Using laptop as vpn router

Hi all
With all the issues with vpns and routers etc, i'd thought that i would test using my laptop as a vpn router.
This may become useful for some people.
My laptop allows me to connect to a vpn.
What i did was connect an ethernet cable from my laptop to my mag box.
I changed a few settings in the Network and Sharing Centre, adaptor settings.
Turned my vpn on and it worked.
This allows me to share the laptops internet connection with the mag box through a vpn.

I have only tested this with a mag. It might work with a smart tv.

I used the following guide for windows 10

https://www.safervpn.com/support/ar...ur-VPN-Connection-Over-Wi-Fi-Using-Windows-10
Scroll half way down and follow the instructions
Share Your Internet Connection with a Hosted Network on Windows 10

Hi, thanks for sharing! I am going to give it a go with my laptop and VPN. Do you have any idea how do it with a different VPN provider? Also i think i only have Windows 7, would that make a difference?
Any help would be great!

Hi
I use usenet vpn and used their instructions to set the vpn up on my pc. It doesn't matter if running windows 7. Just google sharing laptop vpn on windows 7, look through a few tutorials and have a go. Like I say, I haven't tested in smart tv.
This also saves you forking out on a vpn router
