my v8s box has become unresponsive to both remotes i have,changed batteries in both but still wont do anything & when i reboot the box they work for about 10 seconds but after that nothing,looks to me like the box and surely cant be both remotes,anyone had this problem ?

hi reaper,dont seem to get much luck with boxes but ur one is going great ! my v8s upstairs is now canned,the box is stuck on a channel and cant do anything with the remotes,u mention reflash and i take it i need a certain cable to do that ?

For your V8s you need a RS232 null modem cable [with prolific usb adapter if using laptop] plus the ali 3511 erom tool plus last known firmware [No81 from Downloads ]
You need to read the recover dead skybox/openbox thread in forum and obtain a good dose of patience.

I have had this 2 time in the last 3 months. Try formatting the usb.you might find it wont format.even thru dos,sd formatter ect ect.install all data to a new usb.i being experiacing maybe some corrupt data being wrote to the usb amking them non recoverable.even from 2gb to 32gb usbs
 
well this is strange as ive had it powered off for a couple of days and just tried it again and its working !!
 
well i dont know who was praying maybe my wife so i could go upstairs again and watch the footy haha,strange though as it was doing nothing the other night with the remotes
 
Hi does anyone know if your open box does not power up at all is there a comparator that you can change like you can on say a vu box's
