Verbatim recently announced a new line of USB hard drives that are said to be light, sleek and durable. Not only that, but the drives have a special feature: The “Always On” display, which is a customizable display that stays on even when it’s disconnected from the computer.
The InSight Portable USB Hard Drive’s Always On display automatically calculates and continuously displays the drive name and available free space. The drive comes in a piano black finish, and is both PC and Mac compatible.
According to the Verbatim press release, the idea behind having a drive with a display that stays on even after you’re done using it, is that if you’re the type of person whose desk is surrounded by external hard drives — because there are so many of those types out there — then this will help you organize what’s on each hard drive.
“The ability to quickly glance at several drives and identify the one that has pictures of the kids, your music collection or video library, for example, adds a level of convenience not previously available in portable hard drives,” said Charles Klinker, Verbatim’s Director of Marketing, HDD Products in the Verbatim press release.
Backed by a 5-year limited warranty, the package includes the InSight Portable Hard Drive, a USB cable, Nero BackItUp Essentials Software for Windows, and a Quick Start Guide.
