VPN Causing Speed Drops.

Hi.
I am after a bit of help, or advice. Over the last week, when i have my Android Box on, and with the VPN switched on, after a very short period of time, ,my internet speed is dropped from about 45meg to around 2meg. Once this as occured it stays that way, and usually is only restored by switching off the router for about 30 minutes, usually the next day.

So my question is, is this my provider talktalk doing this, or do you know of any other reason this may be happening, i have had no issues until the last week or so, Any advice would be welcome, i am at a loss with this

Thanks

Don't use your VPN for 24 hours and check your speeds on a regular basis.

If your speeds don't change to much it probably means that your VPN is not compatible with your ISP.

There are many factors to consider:
- on your talk talk account: is homesafw switched off.
- are you wired or wifi
- if using VPN better use outside UK but not too far (Netherlands or France or Germany)
- unplug both router and box from mains then replug to refresh.

Throttling would happen and using VPN on top of that could cause speeds to sky rocket.

Trying different locations/servers and do a speed test and see outcome and some are better than others when comes to speeds.
