VPN for 1st gen firestick

Hi all was hoping for some assistance? Is there an any VPN that works on a 1st generation firestick? Have smart iptv and have a subscription however this weekend access was blocked to the smart tv and perfect player only seemed to play one channel BBC Alba . Has anyone else has problems with the smart tv App?
 
As I understand it the 1st gen firestick doesn't have a man enough processor it handle a VPN so it would just hang all the time. Only way would to be via a VPN router... Can't help about sub sorry mine worked great all weekend (with a VPN router)

Just like above comments, vpn encryption takes some processing so 1st generation stuck still not happen, if you don't want vpn router, I'd so for five TV box as its fast and apks can be sideloaded for Vpn subs

Thanks for the swift responses? Been in touch with line supplier says it's fine his end . It the smart tv App came on for 5 mins then stopped same again late last night. Don't know whether my isp has blocked it. What is a good recommendation for a Vpn router please?
 
Netgear nighthawk 7000 or Asus 68 or above, anything with a dual core processor 1ghz or above and decent ram

Have you re-booted your router,if it worked before I don't think they have blocked it.Who is your supplier as I have had trouble with the new virgin hub3.
 
Seemed to happen when the football had started on Saturday. Tried the reset on the router but to no avail. Contacted the Isp said nothing was blocked worked after I had ended the called said they had turned the broadband off then on again
 
Same problem with virgin media with a hub 3 router.Routers have a cache so when the provider turns it off and back on it clears the cache.If they don't reboot your hub their end the cache does not clear.I had never
heard of this but the guy who told me works for virgin and he said it is the same on all routers so if anyone has streaming problems with their provider I think this is the fix.
