VPN on E2

I've spent most of the day reading the tutorials so now I have questions;
Formuler F4 Turbo. Up until now cccam only.
I live in Italy and need VPN to watch UK IPTV channels.
Bought a Firestick 4k but didn't know you couldn't record so need to move on.

1. I presume that VPN on a programmable router does not work on a E2 box even wired from router to E2 box. Is that correct?
2. Using PrivateVPN on my phone and Firestick I find that they have to change their servers fairly regularly which would be a pain on the E2. So, are others the same and you have to fiddle with it often?
3. For ease of use, should I just dump the E2 and go for an Android IPTV box or similar?
4. If the answer to 3 was yes, what mid priced box would you recommend? I want timeshift and record.

You can just get a vpn router and connect your e2 box to it.

You can also put a vpn on the e2 box itself.

OK, thank you. I got the impression that a vpn router wouldn't work. That makes it much easier.
