WD purple 3.5inch Hardrives for enigma 2 linux receivers

Hi Guys

I would like some feedback on anyone that uses these hardrives for their . I am tempted to get one but not sure if it a good idea.
Anyone have some feedback?

I used to use a western digital hdd but went corrupt after a couple of months but now I use a Samsung 1tb hdd and don't have any problems

Hmm.

I like WD hardrives I have two green ones that are in my Ultimo4K and et8000.
I'm just wandering about the purple ones

I told you what the purple ones are for on WoS yesterday.
They are for CCTV recording. It will work but likely suffer data corruption.

i have a 750gb western digital in my box sure they are ok but its your choice m8, you go for what you feel good with

Been given some good advise here so why waste time and effort and money

So I take it the red green or blue are the ideal ones to get for enigma 2 receivers?

As far as I can see the purple drives are designed to be running 24/7 and don't adapt well to spinning up/down sleeping etc.

Blue are used a fair bit on cctv so red or yellow are more suited to home use but i am not an expert on this.

I know the red drives are designed for servers.
I think blue and green are for desktop PC's so either of those would be fine for an E2 box.
