What are 'traditional' British Fish and Chips ?

Went up to the Fermanagh lakes a few times in late September, early October time with the brother in law, who is a keen pike fisherman, caught a few ,with both live and dead fish bait, been a right few years though since I have done any fishing, but I have never thought of eating them, I would agree with basejumper, too many bones for me.

Any fishing works for me. The best day I ever remember was catching gudgeon on the upper reaches of the river Tees, 1/2 lb b.s line whip for a rod, all fought like hell - caught and put back 40 in an hour
