Which build is best for a newbie & why?

Just ordered a h.2s & been doing loads of research on here & youtube so feel like I'm almost a pro!
Once my box arrives I'll find out what I've really learnt??
Everyone has their favourite build but as they all can't do everything perfect, what are the pro's & con's of each?

Just start with WooshBuild and if you like it you've got no reason to go anywhere else.

I started with vix. Wanted to learn more so installed woosh. I now send all my boxes out with woosh as it is so user friendly and unlike vix it updates itself

Do your own.
As said you have been researching.
More than half the forum couldn't set a box up from scratch.
 
The problem is dillyp70 that the biggest percentage of members have no interest in learning how to set a box up from scratch.
A couple of years ago openbox were the inbox and all you had to do was load a line and load a file to update.
Enigma 2 came along and opened up the ability to customise how your box behaved.
Openbox users moved up to zgemma boxes but still only wanted to do as little as possible to get cheap sly tv.
The greatest percentage of new members in the past year have been new zgemma users and probably loading wooshbuild for the same reason that within an hour they can be up and running watching a sly look alike box without having to have any basic knowledge of what their box is doing.
Not everybody is a faffer like some of us and just actually want to watch tv without it keep breaking.
I don't really see this changing any time soon , but on the brightside, at least the newbies are actually beginning to answer posts so there must be a certain element of knowledge and understanding that is now being acquired.

I dont even watch it tbh all repeats its the missus and kids i would rather see what the box can do lol
I still think everyone should atleast once try and set the box up from scratch lol
 
So when you say from stratch you main put vanilla on there then set up your own region and all the other stuff like HDD etc???
 
They mean do everything starting with a fresh system and installing the plugins / skin and configuring it all yourself.
I keep meaning to give it a go and with all i have learnt on here im confident i could do it no problem but its finding the time. Once the kids are in bed and asleep the wife usually wants to watch stuff (and when she is working late like tonight I find myself getting lost watching the x files bluray's I got bought for Xmas)
I will get round to it but even once I do I have no doubt I will put wooshbuild back on as it does what I want it to (plus its easier to help people if I have it installed)
