Whoosh vs grog vs willow build using Sky interface

Blueking5

Newbie
I have the whoosh build interface set up, but although it looks like the Sky interface it does not seem to work like it. I was wondering if the grog build or willow build does actually truly simulate the Sky interface?.
I could be wrong here, but believe that whoosh and grog work under openatv, but willow does not.
Either way, is there a true Sky interface that works just like the Sky or Sky Q interface?.

Just on a related issue, using whoosh build. When I choose a channel and display, I get the channel shown and plays, but, there’s a blue spinning circle in the top left corner, regardless of what channel I choose. I have powered off/on, but this still occurs. I have 300Mb internet speed so should not be that, and as this is new install I have not yet turned on vpn, so it can’t be that as a cause.
I know that when I was installing whoosh builder there was an error encountered when attempting to use the 64gb usb memory stick. Since then I have managed to re-format it via the menu options.
I wondered if that might be cause of the issue I’m seeing.

Actually, I’m pretty sure it is. The zgemma h11s came with pre-populated. If that’s the right word. I had to execute and I’m sure it said 6.4, because I remember thinking to myself and wondering why the latest (7) had not been used, but later found that whoosh and grog have a problem with version7.

Ok sounds like a storage issue to me ,I could be wrong.
if it was me I would reflash the box with 6.4.Online flash through box.
when it boots to 49 continue to set up 6.4 and then initialize usb storage when done.
also set up a password in menu.
Then reflas h again with 6.4 and when it boots to 49 add the wooshbuild command prompt.
Continue set up but do not initialize usb when asked, skip as you've already done it.
Check mounts and enable swap manager.
bear in mind wooshbuild is not supported now.
You can add willobuild via command prompt.
If you have multiple partitions you can add different builds and see what you prefer👍

As for skins if using kiddacs ones,
green button
skin components ok
kiddacs shared skin ok
Then go to skins and add kiddacs skins and reboot box.
Choose which one you want.
other skins are available.

Openwebif
Terminal
In the command prompt type
opkg update
Then click enter.

Once it's finished, reboot the box and it should get rid of whatever background process was running.

Ah, I did kick off epg importer, which runs in background. I had assumed it had finished, but maybe not. I will use your method though and see if that resolves the issue.

Thanks for your help

Yes, just tried that, rebooted and went into a channel. It’s showing a movie, for example, but after a few seconds I get the blue rotating circle in top left corner.
Do you think it could be tgat at ggg by r time of installing whoosh build it failed when it attempted to access the usb memory stick. I later formatted that stick successfully. I choose to skip the process to use the usb drive in tge whoosh build install. Donyiubthinknibshould re-install whoosh build again, or is there something else I can do in whoosh build so that the usb drive is now useable?.

If you press the EPG button on the remote does the EPG populate?

Did the all4one plugin finish download of EPG data?

Make sure all4one plugin is set to store EPG on usb.

If it's not completed import of EPG you may need to initialise the usb and try EPG import again

Yes the EPG data displays when press that button. The all4one plug-in shows the bouquets and added the successfully. Just re-did it to ensure.
Whatever channel I choose plays okay, it’s just that after a few seconds the blue circle appears and stays, and no button on the remote will then work, including the red one, and the channel totke details showing what’s on across the next two hours stays on the bottom of the screen. I have to restart the box then choose another channel.
I guess my question is whether I should reinstall whoosh build, let it prep the usb drive and then when complete run the all4one and then epg importer plugins.

You don't need to reflash the box to prepare the usb you can do it with the remote in ten seconds.

Menu, setup, system, storage device, click on your usb and initialise it.

When you run opkg update did it do anything?
You may need to run it again

Strangely it now all seems to be working.
I don’t know if it was re-processing the all4one bouquets, which I had done before, or the backup I initiated, or the double checking the recording details to ensure they were pointing at the right mounted area, which they were.
Anyway it all now seems to be working just as it should.
Thanks for your help on this though.

"opkg update" only downloads list of packages that are on server/s. Unless you then install/update them, you are not doing anything effective on receiver.

To install the updates, you issue "opkg update"

EDIT: Examples below

opkg update
