Will this setup work?

Hi,

Trying to help my father in law out - he has VM BB and TV. wants to keep the TV for TIVO as his wife likes the ease of use and they only record free to air stuff really, so his idea is to drop vm package down to just bb and basic tv. Then use my old nano 3t combo for the sports and movies.

He has the tv cable going to his tivo box and the bb cable is routed somewhere else (upstairs office - house is a decent size)

Can I just get one of those AB cable splitter switches, he can keep it on A most of the time when using his legit vm, and when he wants to watch sports he can turn the other box on and press the B selector?

Thanks

As suggested above, try a cable splitter first, as that will enable both boxes to be used at the same time, rather than having to mess around with an A-B switch box.
