WilloBuild WilloBuild OpenViX 6.5 Series

Thanks @Willo3092 , I have tried both those scripts before just to install plain VIX and OpenATV they error on my zgemma H9 combo
error as posted in picture above cannot flash kernel, because no kernel file was found.
probabley due to partitions layout not sure, yet yours and grogs build will install but iv'e got to enter reboot in putty when script has finished
oops, the ATV script is probably because it may have been grabbing the recorvery image, which it shouldn't do, I fixed this in the grogbuild setup script but not the install_atv script. Should be fixed now.

Not sure about the VIX install script, it could well require a rewrite as the vix site did change which I updated grogbuild script but can't remember if I did for the VIX install script, unfortunately won't be able to look at it for a week or so due to other commitments, ie the wife insisting on diy being finished, you know those jobs started months/years ago lol

@grog68 ,you said Should be fixed now ? did you mean grogbuild atv because just tried the openatv one and :
Code:
If using multiboot box please enter partition to flash: 2
--2021-02-18 21:50:29-- http://images.mynonpublic.com/openatv/current/zgemmah9combo/openatv-6.4-zgemmah9combo-20210218_full_recovery_emmc.zip

ah just noticed, the atv images filenames are different for the h9combo compared to other boxes, ie the H7 has the following images:

Code:
openatv-6.4-zgemmah7-20210217_usb.zip
openatv-6.4-zgemmah7-20210218_usb.zip
openatv-6.4-zgemmah7-20210216_recovery_emmc.zip
openatv-6.4-zgemmah7-20210217_recovery_emmc.zip
openatv-6.4-zgemmah7 -20210218_recovery_emmc.zip

the H9Combo files are as follows:

Code:
openatv-6.4-zgemmah9combo-20210217_mmc.zip
openatv-6.4-zgemmah9combo-20210218_mmc.zip
openatv-6.4-zgemmah9combo-20210215_recovery_emmc.zip
openatv-6.4-zgemmah9combo-20210217_recovery_emmc.zip
openatv-6.4-zgemmah9combo -20210218_recovery_emmc.zip
openatv-6.4-zgemmah9combo-20210215_full_recovery_emmc.zip
openatv-6.4-zgemmah9combo-20210217_full_recovery_emmc.zip openatv- 6.4- zgemmah9combo-
20210218_full_recovery_zip

Now both the grogbuild setup script and the install_atv script (as off tonight) ignores the recovery files and then uses the latest non recovery image. Normally this is the usb.zip image, on the H9combo it would be the mmc.zip file, I assume this is OK as grogbuild has worked fine but also noticed the last line has two images on the same line, wonder if a bit of bad html code is breaking my link extractor code

just tried my code but forcing it to think its running on the h9combo box and it did download the correct image using the code

Code:
wget -O latestatv http://images.mynonpublic.com/openatv/current/zgemmah9combo/openatv-6.4-zgemmah9combo-20210218_mmc.zip

I think they are basicly the same
Yea that's what I thought, and the script does appear to fetch the latest image, not sure why its not actually working on your box. Did you say grogbuild installs ok?

but the image it is downloading for openatv only is full recovery image that would totally scrub the box I never noticed that the last time

it may not be working because it is trying to flash partition 2 but that is good thing it did not work but it would have been no trouble i have recent backup

I don't think it will flash a full recovery image using the online method will it?
That's what used to happen with ViX and you'd get a flash failed message.

And the Muppet of the year for 2021 is Grog68. I haven't copied the fixed script over to Dropbox doh.

I've shut computer down now so will copy to Dropbox in the morning.

Absolutely no rush mate, youve got other stuff to do.

OK @urie give it another go, the script SHOULD now be on Dropbox
Still no joy here is output from putty.

ignoring the newroot folder issue, the multiboot partition value error is the one that I would look at first, i've not got a multiboot box anymore so can't check but not sure why you are getting that error, you didn't enter a number, delete and then enter another number or anything did you?
