Windows 10 start button problem

Hi guys any idea why my windows start button isn't responding and also cortana isn't working and a few other programs on my home screen just nothing happens when I press them

As number Johnny five said in short circuit - "Need More Input". A lot more info needed, what type of device - PC, Lappy, Phone, tablet?? Exactly what is happening, is anything responding?

It is a laptop the computer seems to be working but when I go to click on the window button it doesn't do anything and same as cortana and also a few other programs on my task bar even when I press the windows key nothing happens if only just recently upgraded to Windows 10 it was fine for a week or so now I get a message saying critical error when I start my laptop up

my mates got that i will keep a eye on this post windows start button only works if u right click to get some options
