Windows 7 OEM Pricing

Since hearing a release date for Windows 7 we have heard many rumors regarding pre-order prices and retail prices, however one thing we have not heard too much about is OEM prices, however with the release date less than a month away we are now beginning to hear details on pricing.

For those of you who don’t know what OEM software is it is basically software which has to come pre-installed on a new personal computer, this software will have been installed by the computer manufacturer, usually licensing only allows OEM licenses to be purchased with computer hardware.

The OEM version will be on average around 50 percent cheaper than the retail versions, it looks like for Windows 7 Home Premium the Full version will set you back $200, the upgrade version will set you back $120 and the OEM Full version will set you back $110.

For Windows 7 Professional the full version will set you back $300 whereas the upgrade version will set you back $200, for the OEM Full version however you will only pay $140.

For Windows 7 Ultimate the full version will set you back $320 whereas the upgrade version will set you back $220, for the OEM Full version however you will only pay $190, you can find out more on HotHardware.
