Zgemma S Installing New Gift Code - Menu Option Locked By Pin

Hi,

I've got a friend who purchased a gift code. Having awful trouble getting it to work.

They have openvix hades on their box.

I've read the guides to download mg_cfg and newcamd file (editing to correct server details) Advised him to place these in usr/keys folder. Which they've successfully done via ftp.

Then instructed them to Menu - Setup - Softcam / CI - Softcam Manager, mgcamd.1.38.

But this where I'm stuck as he's saying the menu is asking for a pin code? Without it they can't access it. When presses green button it just takes him to network menu.

Doesn't know the pin.

I then tried flashing with woosh build but having used 3 different USB sticks it just wont flash.

So I'm thinking the box is locked down somehow.

I've spent the past 2 days trawling through this forum and I've hit a wall.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Think it's just a parental pin. It should still flash but USBs can be temperamental. Try this....(plugins won't be working though I presume so it will need reflashed at some point!)

FTP in, and edit the file /etc/enigma2/settings. See a section called config.ParentalControl.servicepin.0=. After the = sign, see a pin no???

Thank you for your help. Located it and there was the pin. Switched it off now.

Worked out flashing issues to the USB is a 3.0 format. Will get a 2.0 bog standard stick then should be all up and running.
