it wouldn't or shouldn't be external, the H7 Supports internal 2.5 HDD
I fitted the sata hdd in the box Pablo, maybe ive got it in the wrong port?? yet I can hear it driveif it's not showing the hdd here then it's not recognising it, if it's connected by usb (I assume it's external) then try a different usb port
thats all i did with mine and i have same box has youtake HDD out of the receiver and format it through windows fat32 system
stick it back in box and initialize it
ll look at that , daft question mate how do I attach the hdd to a pc, has it a usb connector? There are 2 connectors inside, make sure you connect the HDD to the correct one or it won't work.
I would format the HDD in EXT-4 on a PC using the free partition wizard
Cheers mate :)You need a sata to usb connector suitable for 2.5 inch drives around £6 on amazon
wouldn't mind doing this in h52tc if its possiblefrom 1.24 onward should show the connections on zgemma you need to install hdd (ignore the first attempt he makes with power cable) as he messes that up.
wouldn't mind doing this in h52tc if its possible
Thanks willo will have a go at that todayIf there is no file system on the drive it won't be recognised by windows and allocated a drive letter.
Follow the instructions on how to format it with Partition Wizard.

When complete, the drive still won't be recognised by windows because it will be in Linux ext4 format. Don't worry about it, just put it back in the box and power on.
You DO NOT NEED TO INITIALISE IT because that's what you have just done on PC.
All you need to do is check that it's mounted as /media/hdd in Mount Manager.
