can you use a "freesat" dish instead of a sky dish?

as per the tite,

a friend wants to get a zgemma,
doesnt have a sky dish on his house though.

he has a free sat dish instead,

can he just put an F connector on and it will work?

If the dish, lnb, cabling and connectors are all In good working order then Yes should be fine as it will be pointed to 28.2e.

If your dish is pointing to 28.2e then it should be ok

As long as it's pointing towards 28.2 east it will work. I have a dish that's pushing 30 years old and it's still working fine.
