connect hudl with xpeed lx2 for streaming

I've managed to connect my Samsung s5 to watch via my phone by using kodi...I've then tried to do it with the hudl 2....It won't work using kodi this time it comes up 'can't open file' before it can even open up kodi ....I then installed VLC it sort of works...the time bar scrolls across but no sound or picture ....
Can anyone help
