Totally agree mike, it got fully commercialised and that ruined it for me . They did the same with festivals like Glastonbury and stonehenge (they even stopped music festivals at stonehenge). It's like going to a radio one roadshow now and where it was always free and for the people it is now all about the money. Years ago they had proper underground bands and proper dance music but now everything just seems sounds the same to me.It wasn't really the same after it become commercialised I think I went to 4 or 5 never seen one fight. Mind you evreybody was popping pills.
Quite a few DJs made there name on the scene Fat Boy Slim ,tall Paul etc
There used to be a club called Eclipse in Coventry that was pretty good and I knew a few people from Mosely in Birmingham that formed the House of God. They used tp do Techno nights at a club called Subway City and after that it was held at the Dance Factory. A couple of people from that released quite a few records ,Tony Surgeon and realsirreal. I think that's what made there rave nights so good back then as a lot of it was music they had done themselves so there was a different vibe.
