Satellite H1 recommendations - Tweaks & Pluggins

Afternoon all,

Have a bloke given me his h1 back to get it updated with the latest image & plugins.
HIis h1 is out of date! to the days where tsmedia still on his box - so you can imagine what else could be wrong with it - sat.xml file (bbc1HD out of place)

What do you guess recommend tweak wise to prevent any problems in the future?

Recommendations
EPG - what would you reccomend using for epg? xmltv or cross epg?
Obviously I want to keep the h1 at its best performance levels so minimal pluggins and no picons :)
 
For the backup image that's upto you but yes use the xml updater that is now part of abm so will be on later images.

For epg stick with crossepg for sat and use epgrefresh from cable set it to zap to vm preview channel in the all channels bouquet for about 5 minutes in the morning
 
Its only a sat setup, no cable involved so it'll just be crossepg.
Also does the xml updater search/scan before the autobouquets scans?
 
You have to manually run the config updater then scan abm no need to do that every time just when the sat xml needs updating

Tv working now, however IPTVplayer is being a pain in the @$$!!

Warning Some plugins are not available. Extensions/IPTVPlayer?

Did both of those as well. Resulted in the same error message.
I don't think his too fussed he has his channels back so thats the main part :)
