Cable H2H Recording VM only

Hi all

I am looking at getting one of these for a friend but they only have a VM feed and no sly. Would they still be able to watch one channel and record a second?

with a h2h you have 2 tuners.
1 cable (VM) tuner
1 Sat(sly) tuner
The only way of doing that would be to get a usb cable tuner and then you would need to split the VM feed into 2 so you have 1 feed going into the internal cable tuner and another going into the usb cable tuner.
IMHO that is alot of effort

I see you have a dual DVB-C on an Xtrend ET8500 do you just split the cable feed for that?

Yeah I split the cable feed so now I have a 3 way splitter
1 feeds router
1 feeds orig. Vm box downstairs
1 feeds my room.
I then have another 2 way splitter in the room which splits the feed again so I have two cables from that splitter into the back of the xtrend :)
Always have 5-1000 mhz splitters to reduce interference
And use quality cable :)
