Initialising hdd

Does anyone know how long it takes to initialise a 500g hdd? It's on 51/100 how long do you leave it before you realise it's stuck?

Depends on hdd but give it 30 mins. If you unplug it you may have to re format it on a PC before you can try again.

Sometimes 51% takes a while then it's very quick to around 95% then slows again.
