Hi folks, new to this site having been away from sat stuff for some time. Have just ordered a Blade BM7000S to ease back into things as a fairly simple, straightforward, hopefully trouble free set up.
My query is around the original Dreambox DM7000S - I bought one of these many years ago - used it for around a year then boxed it up where's it's been until now. I connected it up, booted it but the box doesn't respond to the remote.
I've erased the Gemini image that was on there and reflashed via null modem cable the original official image but still the remote doesn't work. I've recorded the remote using iphone video recorder and can see it emit IR with key presses, so the actual handset/remote appears to be working, which suggest (as far as I can tell at least) that the boxes IR receiver is kaput. Can anyone tell me if this is a common problem...and is there anything realistically that I can do to bring the box back to life?
