Does anyone know how to make a PDF file smaller.

I have a copy of the passport and the instructions were just to save in PDF - Easy so I thought...
Have come to upload the file and it says its gotta be smaller

I have seen the compresses online but with it being a passport it might not be the smartest move
I have downloaded different compresses but they either dont work or you have to pay, which would be good if I was ever going to use it again.

Is there a way to do it or is the only option to pay
 
When you save it does it not say about compression

Think they lower the quality of images and the likes

You can get apps to do it on you computer
 
If you don't have any success, I'm at work and our scanner lets you change the resolution/file size.
Just PM me and I'll try scanning it again for you.
