III. Multiplayer Customizables
In Modern Warfare 2 they took custom ability to a whole new level. There is so much you can do to make your class new and unique. Along with the classes are the callsign and kill streaks which you can choose from and customize.

Custom Classes
In Modern warfare 2 the custom class set ups are a bit different than past Call of Duty games. You get to choose one primary weapon (with one attachment unless you have bling), one secondary weapon (with one attachment unless you have bling pro), one equipment, one special grenade, one death streak, and three perks. There is more info on each of these in the weapons section, perk section, and death streak section. To make the best custom class available you need to think about what type of person you want to be. Each class can have it's strengths and weaknesses which you can try to enhance and cover up. I will explain some classes:

Custom Class
Primary Weapon
Secondary Weapon
Equipment
Special Grenade
Perk 1
Perk 2
Perk 3
Death Streak

Sniper
Intervention w/Heartbeat Sensor/Silencer
PP-2000 w/silencer
Claymore
Flash/Smoke
Sleight of Hand Pro/Scavenger
Stopping Power/Cold Blooded Pro
Steady Aim Pro/Ninja Pro
Final Stand
This is a good sniper class. Snipers are meant to be stealthy and kill fast and sneaky like. For core (regular matches) it's best to use the heartbeat sensor to know if someone is coming up behind you. Claymores also help out when you're sniping since you can't see behind you. Sleight of Hand Pro helps to zoom in fast and stopping power helps to kill with one shot. Steady Aim Pro is to help with holding your breath. For Hardcore it's best to use a silencer on your sniper rifle with scavenger to add more ammo. You can even get more claymores from the dead. Cold Blooded and Ninja perks help with the stealth aswell.

Assault
M4A1 w/Red Dot Sight or Holographic Sight
USP
Frag/Semtex
Flash/Stun
Scavenger
Cold Blooded
Steady Aim/Ninja/Commando
Painkillers
This is a regular Assault class. Assault rifle classes are more run and gun. The Red Dot Sights really help your view when aiming. If you're aiming far range then use an ACOG Scope. Many people use stopping power, however assault rifles are strong and accurate (M4 is more accurate than powerful) and thus don't need extra damage. While running and gunning it's best to flash or stun around corners to not get shot up, regular frags or semtex are also useful. Scavenger is best for more ammo since you can run out of ammo pretty fast with assault rifles. The third perk can be any of those three since they're all useful for assault rifles. The best death streak for run and gunners are painkillers to make sure you don't get spawn killed. Martyrdom can work good too if you're running more than gunning and get killed next to the enemy. The grenade may kill the person who killed you.

Shield
Riot Shield
Machine Pistol
Blast Shield
Stun
Marathon
Lightweight
Commando
Painkillers
This class is for the more conservative shield/tank class. You use the riot shield to protect you from regular shots. The blast shield is to protect you against blasts, especially if you get stuck by semtex. Stun grenades slow down the enemies so you can go in for the kill. Riot shields weigh you down a lot so lightweight and marathon help out with that. Commando helps with the range of your melee distance when bumping with the riot shield.

Callsign:
A new edition to MW2 is the “callsign” which shows up when someone kills you. You can choose one of 30 titles and one of 57 Emblems to customize your callsign. You can get these by ranking up, using different weapons, or playing a certain way. You start of with the F.N.G title and Dog tags emblem.

Perks:
In MW2 you get three different perks just like MW. However if you use the perks enough then you unlock a “pro” version of the perk which allows you to use the original perk and the pro perk at the same time. I will tell you how to unlock the pro perk in the brackets after the pro perk.

Perk 1:
Marathon: Unlimited sprint
Marathon Pro: Climb obstacles faster (Run 26 Miles using Marathon)
Sleight of Hand: Faster reloading
Sleight of Hand Pro: Faster Aiming (120 Kills using Sleight of Hand)
Scavenger: Resupply ammo and equipment from Dead Enemies. After you kill someone a blue bag will drop which you walk over to pick resupply.
Scavenger Pro: Extra mags. (Resupply 100 times while using Scavenger)
Bling: Two primary weapon attachments
Bling Pro: Two secondary weapon attachments (Get 200 Kills using a weapon with two attachments)
One Man Army: Takes up secondary weapon slot along with perk 1. To use switch to secondary weapon and choose the class you want to switch to. It takes about 6 seconds to switch to any of the current custom or premade default classes.
One Man Army Pro: Swap classes faster (Get 120 Kills using One Man Army)

Perk 2:
Stopping Power: 40% Increased bullet damage
Stopping Power Pro: Extra damage to enemy vehicles (Get 250 Kill using Stopping Power)
Lightweight: Move faster
Lightweight Pro: Quick aim after sprinting (Sprint 30 Miles using Lightweight)
Hardline: Kill Streaks require one less kill
Hardline Pro: Death Streaks require one less death (Get 40 Killstreaks while using Hardline)
Cold-Blooded: Undetectable by UAVs, air support, sentries and thermal
Cold-Blooded Pro: No red crosshair or name when targeted (Destroy 40 Enemy Killstreak rewards while using cold blooded)
Danger Close: Increased explosive weapons damage
Danger Close Pro: Extra air support damage (Get 100 Kills with explosives while using danger close)

Perk 3:
Commando: You can lunge at an enemy to knife them.
Commando Pro: No Fall damage (Get 20 Melee Kills Using Commando)
Steady Aim: Increased hip-fire accuracy
Steady Aim Pro: Longer hold breath duration for sniper scopes (Get 80 hip fire kills using Steady Aim)
Scrambler: Jams enemy radar for enemies near you
Scrambler Pro: Delay enemy claymore explosions (get 50 Close range kills using Scrambler)
Ninja: Invisible to Heartbeat Sensor
Ninja Pro: Your footsteps are silent (Get 50 Close range kills while using Ninja)
SitRep: Detect enemy explosives and Tactical Insertions
SitRep Pro: Louder enemy footsteps (Destroy 120 Enemy Devices using SitRep)
Last Stand: When hurt enough to be killed you fall into last stand where you can shoot enemies until you bleed out. Works with all hand guns and the M93 Raffica. If you don't have any of those as a secondary weapon you'll pull out a M9 Pistol
Last Stand Pro: Use equipment and special grenades in Last Stand (Get 20 Kills while in last stand)

Kill Streaks:
In Modern Warfare 2 you will be able to customize your kill streaks. You’ll be able to choose 3 of 15 Kill Streak Rewards, each with their own set kill streak. If you get a killstreak from a care package it will not count towards your killstreak currently going on unless it's a pave low. If you die and call in a killstreak the kills the killstreak gets will not count towards your current killstreak. But if you call in a killstreak the first time you're alive and get it then the kills it gets will count towards your killstreak. Sentry Gun kills don't count towards your killstreak either. Some are saying neither do pave lows unless they're from care packages. This could have just been a glitch that was or is being patched.

3 - UAV: Call in a UAV to scan the map and reveal enemy locations. Now able to be shot down. +50XP For shooting one down.
4 - Care Package: Air drop a random kill streak or ammo. All killstreaks except for the nuke, care package, and emergency airdrop can be called in. Call it in by throwing a red smoke grenade. A heli drops the package from the sky and can land outside the map or on buildings you can't reach. The care package can be picked up by anyone once it hit’s the ground, including the enemy team. The care package can also kill, if it lands on a player. You can capture it fast if you called it in, slow if your team called it in, and very slow if it's an enemies. You can shoot one down but get no XP. It'll drop the care package still. All killstreaks minus the pave low do not count towards your ongoing killstreak.

The probability of any given item is as follows (according to PC code):
14.78% - UAV
14.78% - Ammo
13.04% - Counter-UAV
10.43% - Sentry Gun
10.43% - Predator Missile
9.57% - Precision Airstrike
6.09% - Harrier Airstrike
6.09% - Attack Helicopter
4.35% - Pave Low
4.35% - Stealth Airstrike
2.61% - Chopper Gunner
2.61% - AC-130
0.87% - EMP

4 - Counter-UAV: Blocks an enemy UAV and disables their radar for the duration. It can also be shot down. +50XP
5 - Sentry Gun: Air drop a sentry gun (just like a care package) that fires at moving enemies in it's line of sight. The head swivels on the stand to find enemies. The gun automatically fires at enemies in its line of sight, but it can be destroyed by enemy fire or one melee to it. Once deployed, the player who placed it can pick it back up and redeploy it somewhere else if it's not destroyed. If not destroyed it will break down after awhile. It lasts around 2 minutes. Kills from the sentry gun don't count towards your killstreak. +100XP for destroying.
5 - Predator Missile: Fires a controllable missile at a designated target area. User is vulnerable while using. You can make the missle go down faster by pressing the fire button. It can also target other airstrikes (including friendlies) and sometimes hits AC-130 right when it's deployed.
6 - Precision Airstrike: Initiates an airstrike on a targeted area just like the Airstrike in Call of Duty 4. However, the user can now control the direction the airstrike comes from.
7 - Harrier Strike Deploys a small airstrike (two fly overs) followed by a hovering harrier that will attack enemy players for a short time with a mini gun. Has the ability to take out enemy helicopters while both are in the air. Takes one stinger to shoot down. +300XP For shooting one down with a launcher. +400XP for shooting it down with a gun. It lasts about 60 seconds from the time you call it in.
7 - Attack Helicopter: Call in an Attack Helicopter, also known as a Cobra or Hind. Takes one stinger to shoot down. +200XP for shooting one down.
8 - Emergency Airdrop: Call in a Cargo plane that drops four care packages.
9 - Pave Low: Call in a heavily armored Pave Low (helicopter). Takes two stingers to shoot it down. Kills from the pave low don't seem to count towards your killstreak.+400XP For shooting one down.
9 - Stealth Bomber: Call in a stealth airplane invisible on radar but you can heard it coming. It drops a large amount of bombs where you want it to.
11 - Chopper Gunner: Deploys a Apache attack helicopter that the player controls. User is vulnerable while controlling it. It's hard to aim but locks onto targets while shooting. It also deploys flares if being shot at. It takes about two or three stingers to shoot it down. +300XP for shooting one down. It lasts about 70 seconds.
11 - AC-130: Deploys an AC-130 gunship that the player controls. User is vulnerable while using the plane. It's really hard to shoot down since it shoots flares but isn't in the air that long. You also have to reload after a certain amount of shots unlike the campaign/spec ops AC-130. 1 Shot for the 105mm, 4 shots for the 40mm, and around 10 shots for the 25 mm guns. It takes three stingers to take it down. +400XP For shooting one down.
15 - EMP: Deploys an Electromagnetic pulse that disables the enemies' HUD, radar and any other device that uses electronics (Red Dot, Holo Sight, Thermal Scope, Part of the ACOG Scope, Heartbeat Sensor, Javelin, Stinger, and Killstreaks that are set up minus the nuke.) While the EMP is active killstreaks cannot be called in. It lasts 1 minute.
25 - Tactical Nuke: Calls in a Nuke that lands after 10 seconds killing all players, and ends the game leaving your team the victor even if you were losing.

Death Streak Perks:
A new edition to Modern Warfare 2 are deathstreaks. They are chosen in the classes just like perks.

Copycat - 4 Deaths - Copy the loadout (Weapons, Perks, and Attachments) of the enemy that killed you last. To use look at the killcam when you die and it will say press Y/triangle to copy loadout.
Painkiller - 3 Deaths - Double health for ten seconds after respawn.
Martyrdom - 4 Deaths - Drop a live grenade when killed.
Final Stand - 4 Deaths - Crawl around on the ground with any weapon before dying; full recovery if no damage is taken for a certain amount of time. Here you can use your primary weapon and even switch to your secondary weapon and use your equipment and special grenades!

Challenges
In Modern Warfare 2 (just like past games) there are challenges in the barracks section of multiplayer. The full list can be viewed and downloaded at the top of this guide. The majority of challenges that people tend to go for are challenges for guns that unlock attachments. There are also challenges for special camouflage on guns too. The other challenges give callsign titles and emblems plus XP. All of these can only be unlocked once per prestige. Once you prestige they reset and you can unlock them again when they become available. If you do the challenge before it becomes available then you will not get the XP bonus, title, emblem, attachments, or camo. Once you prestige the first time you get special "Prestige Challenges" which never reset and roll over through the prestiges. I talk about this in the prestige section.

Unmarked Challenges
There are many challenges that don't appear in the barracks which you can get titles for and XP. Like most challenges you can only do them once per prestige. Also you can do these at any time it seems. You don't have to wait to unlock a set of challenges like the other regular challenges. I'm not sure of all hidden challenges available. Some include:

Radiation Sickness - Get nuked by an enemy +1500 XP
Identity Thief - Get a payback with the class you copied from them with the copycat death streak. This challenge is actually shown in the barracks, however you can complete it before you unlock the challenge. +3500 XP.
The Numb - Once painkiller is activated, get hurt so badly that you would normally die if you didn't have painkillers. You do not have to survive. +1000XP
Martyr - Kill someone with the grenade you dropped with the martyrdom deathstreak. +1000XP
Living Dead - Stand back up after being put into Final Stand by not taking damage for long enough. +1000XP
The Loner - Get a 10 killstreak with no killstreaks selected +2500XP
Martyr-Doh - Kill someone cooking a frag grenade. +1000XP
Never Forget - Kill someone with a backstab after they wounded you and you survive. +?XP
Renaissance Man - Get three kills with three different guns in one life. +1000XP
Sidekick - Get three kills with a handgun in one life. +1000XP
The Edge - Get the last kill in a match. There are three levels to this challenge. Get the final kill 5, 10, and 20 times for 2500XP, 5000XP, and 10000XP
Heroic - Capture a domination point while in Last Stand +?XP
6 Fears 7 - Get a 7, 8, and 9 killstreak rewards in the same match. +1500XP
With A Vengeance - Avenge a fallen team mate. +1000XP

XP Bonuses
In Modern Warfare 2 there are many different XP Bonuses you earn during matches which give you extra XP added to the regular kill and challenge XP, but sometimes they only give you extra XP up to a certain point OR they don't give any XP at all but pop up the same as the other XP Bonuses. During gameplay a message pops up giving the title and a little description of what you just did. I believe I have listed all in the game:

Prestige Mode
Once you unlock prestige and choose to prestige you get a new icon and start over at level 1. You lose all your weapons, attachments, equipment, and kill streaks. You keep your leaderboard stuff, callsign, and accolades. There are ten prestiges each with their own icons. Once you enter prestige you can get new titles which weren't available before. There are also a new section of challenges called prestige challenges. Also in each gun are kills and headshot challenges which can be carried over into other prestiges. All the prestige challenges carry over except for Flashbang Veteran, Stun veteran, stealth, last stand veteran, and knife veteran.

You also get custom slots every other level. Every level you get new titles and emblems.

Highlight prestige and it says "Continue your Advancement." Click it and the info it says is,

Do it all again?
Trade all of your accomplishments for a bit of prestige. In addition to your new prestige rank icon, you'll gain access to some new titles, emblems, and challenges.

Other players will see your new prestige rank icon in the lobby, leaderboards, and game.

More Info
Prestige has a price: Everything you've unlocked including weapons, experience and challenges will be reset; You'll have to rank up again to require them.

Only your leaderboard rankings, titles, emblems, clan tag and play lists will be unaffected.

Last Chance...
There's no going back...

If you exit after that a chicken sound will play. If you click enter prestige a gunshot sound from a desert eagle is played and stretched out. And you do in fact lose your kill streaks. You can keep accolades as well.
