One Satellite Cable - Record on Gemma Star 2S?

I have a Zgemma star 2S and would like to record on it however I only have one satellite cable coming from the satellite dish outside.
I want to be able to make sure of the recording functionality.

Can I use a Tv Satellite splitter so two satellite cables will be the output and put both of them into the Zgemma box? Will it work?

You need separate feeds from the lnb/dish for each tuner.

As I understand it, there are high and low voltage channels, and each of those can be either vertical or horizontal polarity, so that's four different groups. Your Zgemma "programs" the LNB to receive one of those four, so if you do split it then you will only get channels from the same group on the second sat feed.
