yes,and this can be important to cpu selection. seen more than a few instances where the bios version on the motherboard doesnt support the cpu without updating the bios to a newer version. kinda tough to do when your computer wont work.lol. make sure your cpu is supported not only by socket type but by the bios as well.
yes when you buy a new board there will be a installation disc which will have bios/motherboard setup BUT remember if your not buying the most recent board then you will likely have to go to your motherboards manufacturers site and just download the latest bios from there :)
