Hi guys, quick question, does the quality of the hdmi cable effect my gaming experience? My sister nicked mine and im after a new one. I know you can get cheap ones and more expensive ones, but is there an obvious difference in the quality of gaming given that its on a 1080p tv? thanks..

I've found very little if no difference using cheap HDMI cables for 1080p.

Would have to agree with everyone else. I have never been able to see any difference depending on the price ranges. Just seems to be a way of trying to fleece money out of people who believe they are paying for better quality.

Agree more expensive isn't always better

all put out the same digital signal of 1's & 0's lol so a 99p and 99pound one will do the same job its just the made from better material supposedly lol

Unless your PS4 is in a commercial server space, then a cheap HDMI cable will give you an almost identical 1080p image, compared to a Monster or Belkin cable that retails £40+

    Short version -

There are only four kinds of HDMI cables for the home:
    • High-speed with Ethernet
    • High-speed without Ethernet
    • Standard-speed with Ethernet
    • Standard-speed without Ethernet
High speed cables are those that support HDMI 1.4 (i.e can handle transmit data fast enough to handle the extra data needed for 120Mhz).

Don't be lured by promises of better signal connection with gold plated end and other BS Sellers try to use. Merely to emphasize my point check this bad boy out
