remote not working tried taking casing off,nothing but still need to update channels

Somebody please help if you can. Channels all disappeared but remote not working and need to scan.Any ideas anyone please please somebody help before i go mad !!!!!:beg:

Have you verified whether it's the remote controller not working or the box?

Point the remote at a digital camera, phone camera, webcam etc. & see if the infra red diode at the end of the remote flashes when viewed in the digital cameras screen while pressing a button on the remote.

Yeah I have. It turns out it was the box, it is sorted now. Got someone to have a look at it. The cowboy who sorted me a line out in September who has now disappeared off the face of the earth had locked it so I couldn't get into it But alls well that ends well. Thanx for ur help.
