This is the set up for the f3 skybox, ease of set up about 5 - 10 simple when its all explained just like everything so i have done a little tutorial for you all to help people unsure on what to do, the box is HD upgradable via USB device.

First off get yourself a blank usb device which must be formatted to fat32 by plugging into your pc, most of these boxes come with the image preloaded so all you will need to add is your favorite see lion, which is simple you put it on your usb and stick it in the front of the box.

The pictures below will show you the rest of the story, if you dont have a hdmi tv you can use the composit cable and the scart adapter as shown below.

This is the box the f3 comes in nice and compact.

This is what you get in the box remote Hdmi cable power lead and book

If you dont have a HDMI fitting on your TV you will need these composite to scart.

Back of box as you see it does not have a scart connection so you will need the connection above

Installation screen for doing your scanning, you press ok and then scroll down to what you want and press ok
Sky8_zps439b71cb.jpg

In here you have you tv settings same again press ok then scroll down to what you want and press ok

Here you can edit your channels with the remote or use the channel editor available
Sky10_zps2b30f13f.jpg

This is where you get into your cam*, but as you can see it does not show up reason been you have not entered the number
Sky11_zps736890fc.jpg

As you can now see once you see this screen all you do to get it is press 6666 on your remote this brings up the hidden menu
Sky12_zps968bfe8b.jpg

Once you press ok then click on cmds you will get this screen up click on the cca* or what you are using then you will get next screen
Sky13_zpsb4710006.jpg

Here you have your usb in and you can update your sea lions here you can also manually do it by scrolling to the next option not highlighted

As you can see its not that hard to get this box up and running just takes the time to read and do it step by step, after that reboot your router and you should be viewing your channels any questions just put a post up and i will try answer it for you if i can.

Picture is crystal clear nice neat little box shiny black in colour so will go with you black tv should you have one, channel change is instant, can play video via your usb you can record direct to usb, only let down the channel you are recording has to be watched or switched on you can have utube it has a button called M/P which brings up a micro screen from which you can select what you need overall box is good value for money i would give it 9/10 only let down the remote is a bit flimsy and no real feel off it

got this box from dcreceivers and it came with the channel file and the image preloaded all i had to do was put the special line to it and job was sorted !

Thanks for that tutorial, very useful for me as i have only just got this box, i did the connection as you say composite to scart which was fine connected to my dvd rec, it did work as i recorded on it, but now it won't work for some reason, i have a picture but with too much interference on it, its not the new box audios as i plugged it into tv and it was fine, any ideas anyone?

Why not use the front usb on the box for recording its behind the front pull down door, try disconnecting the leads and start again with your connections and see where you went wrong

Thanks, i have used the usb for recording, it was just that the dvd rec is much faster for fast forward and that sort of thing, i can't work out why it was fine then it wasn't without touching it, thankful that its not the box as i hate sending things back, it works through my amp so i know the box is fine, very good box for the price anyway.

Yep picture is quality and the ease of set up is good for a beginner and that is what people want easy set up and watch.

Hi

I have only loaded lines manually before.

Do you just put your sea lion in a text file ?

How do you set it out, just put the line in complete
or have you got to specify ID, Pass, Add, Port ?

If you follow the tutorial and get to the part where the cmds you click in there and you will see another screen on this you will see CCam client Setup click that, now if you are using the cline on a file on a usb stick you can update it in here or go to manage config file and click ok i here you have the option to manually add your file you will need all your details etc when you get in there you will understand it a bit better

hi reading up on all the different boxes do these boxes sky f3 work on the cable vermin lan? am a novice when it comes to these boxes

Entering a CCcam line into the F3 or F5 via a USB stick

I've taken some of this from the openbox tutorial.

Format the USB stick fat32, so,this will be the only file on the stick .

1. Create a file called CCcam.cfg using wordpad or notepad

2. Use "save as" and make sure the file type is set to "ALL"

3. Open the blank “CCcam.cfg” file, and copy and paste the available code into notepad and save it.

e.g.

(C Line)

C: test.dm800.com 12000 user1008 password

If you buy an N line

the method is the same, the line you paste in will look like this

N: test.dm800.com 12000 user1008 password 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

Oh !! believe you need the capital C when you name the file "CCcam.cfg"

To load it on to your box use

Menu - Network Local Settings - Camds Setup - CCcam Client Setup - Update Files by USB

Press ok to put a tick (or green add button) next to CCcam.cfg (CCam plug)
Press yellow "read" button.
Let the box read in the file, Exit out of the menus and Reboot your box.

I can load them manually too but believe you can use the USB
to load it, was wondering if this is the right method
and format for the N line

yes thats right for nline, i have one in mine, when you go in manage config file press ok then press blue butt and where it says protocol press right for newcamd and you put it in there and press yellow to save. thats manual as thats how i do it, the other way i don't know myself, someone may be about later to tell you.

I'm expecting my box tomorrow or monday
so I will try the method in my earlier post
and see if I can load it via the USB stick

The method you posted is correct & will work fine.
If you have a PC connected to the same LAN as the box then the 'LAN tool' is an easier way to go, also check out my channel list posted on this site if you want a Sky UK or Hotbird channel line-up with minimum fuss.

Thanks for the help,

Where do I get the Lan Tool ?
Looked in the downloads can see
there is one for the openbox.

Never heard of it before, this box is
all new to me. Still waiting for it to arrive !

Got a blade so not completely daft,
I know I could enter a line manually

Now also by USB method.

You have got me interested in the Lan Tool
now though, have you got anymore info ?

cheers

No insult intended ;) it's difficult to assess someone's level of knowledge so keeping it simple is the best way to go.
I have attached the LAN tool below & it also has the latest TP_PROG.dbs file for the current channel list 28.2E & 13E, unzip it to somewhere, there is no installation & the directory structure is all set up.

You will receive all the channels just go into your boquets and change it, i think the button is uner the 9 to unscramble them you will need that special line
