Skybox F5 dead....

Hi all, so after nearly three years my skybox f5 has the dreaded dim red light and dim 8. I have already got a brand new VU+ Zero but as I'm about as technical minded as a dead sloth....I need some direction/help/advise bearing in mind I'm not just a noob..... I'm whatever comes before that.

Hi I know threw past experience if it has a dim red light only its kerput not even cables to computer sorts it.I had one had a power serge that was it all over thx.
