http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK
ut some are saying not compatable

ive googled and keep getting a device manager that tells me i need to register to gt the drivers updated

You can get the drivers HERE: Linny (Not sure if you have Atheros, Broadcom, Intel or Realtek Wireless but all are there)

if the screen improves with pressure linny i would be taking the covering off and tightening all the screws in place,it obviously got dropped and something is loose, worth a try

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Something sorted now the driver manager is telling me these are eirher out of date ir not installed still cant gwt wireless to work<br />

Linny, you never installed the Chipset Drivers after the re-install........

Go HERE to get them
thats one of the ones it would not install i think, but now going back to that page i see i may have downloaded some of the wrong drivers as i clicked on notebook rather than archive, then notebook as they are different families, its a different code! :(:damn:
its all packed away now - must get some housework done, so will check it monday .
Problem is to use it ive got to add it to my screen which means turning my pc off so i can use the ethernet as cable is not long enough to put laptop on tv for screen. So a bit of a pain in the wotsit!

What would i do without you guys :)

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->got bored with housework and hate leaving things undone so decided to download but came across problems will add photos via phone so still not got whats needed the read me file is long

So now im confuzzled :( as i ow have what i believe is the correct file but cant install it :(
This chipset utility will that make the wireless work or is that a different problem i have coz although i have downloaded and installed all the files from previous post it still wont recognise any wireless - god be glad when friday 13th is over lol! think i now need to chill and have a glass :)

<img src="http://www.techkings.org/images/smilies/loll.gif" border="0" alt="" title="lol" class="inlineimg" />! the file i downloaded was the chipset<a href="http://www.techkings.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=5293&d=1334339646" id="attachment5293" rel="Lightbox_228876" ><img src="http://www.techkings.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=5293&d=1334339646&thumb=1" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version

is it possible you need a network card for the wireless Linny,i dont know how old that machine is,is there a slot for a card on the side of it

Scratch that Linny just had a look at that laptop and it seems to be a internal card, some people reported a fix to the wireless problem after updating the bios and a restart

Friggin hell Linny, you dont half make things difficult for yourself, stop being so feckin nice to others, I know it is hard, but just keep practising.
I hope you are getting lots of free lessons for this one (y)

had it put away as been busy over the weekend but will take a look at it in the week and try and fix the screen 1st to make my life a bit easier. i have set it so that windows controls the wireless rather than the other programms. Will also look into make sure the bios is uptodate. it did work wirelessly before it went wrong. his super hub is in the other side of the house.
Have not had a chance to see if everything else on it works ok but will also do another device manage check to see if it says any other drivers are out of date - Not that i would buy the programme lol! but at least it helps to let me know whats needed so i can come and check with you guys. I dont trust anything that asks for money unless i have checked with you guys 1st :)

still no joy with this wifi and installing that file.
tried to take the screen off but cant see how to :(

There should be little rubber studs at the four corners that have screws underneath, failing that the Bessel should pull apart.

Something like this Linny:

not getting anywhere fast where ever i look for the drivers needed send me to a device manage programme - all of which tell me whats needed but also that you have to register and pay to get the licence key.

the drivers i have tried to download from the toshiba site for some reason will not install
got to the stage now where ive spent days on it just to get now where aaarrrrrrggg. cant get screen off of laptop to try and sort that out undo 2 small screw but that seems to do nothing.

so im afraid to say it seems to have beaten me. Ive googled/youtubed keys for these driver managers but none work ( think coz they are over a yr old :( )

Well you've learned some important lessons Linny, there's one golden rule before a clean install.

Make sure you have all the correct necessary drivers prior to commencement.

After a clean install, Immediately install the following drivers in the following order before you do anything else at all.

Chipset Drivers

Audio Drivers

LAN Drivers

Video Drivers

That said, the pain you are now experiencing is part of the learning process, knowledge is acquired through hard work & we've all been in your situation at some point during our learning cycle.

This is just a little observation & not a criticism Linny,

You tend to go a bit gun-ho once you have a little idea of what's what and tend to try all sorts. Better to get the required information in full before you start and don't try your own sites and software programs alongside the advice you are given here as it tends to confuse the issue leaving others unsure what exactly you have tried ;)
For example, If I remember correctly from one of your earlier screen-shots you had something like 3 manufacturers wireless drivers installed (They can conflict & drive you crazy).

Drivers above anything else are the most finicky devils and the incorrect ones can cause untold grief.

You are doing this for a friend or acquaintance and causing yourself serious stress? If you are determined to continue you might consider starting fresh (much less pain than trying to undo what you might have done incorrectly) or just return it and say you done your best.

If it were here know I would

Make absolutely sure I had all the correct drivers first (Not two or three different ones and hoping that one works).

Wipe the system and install again.

Install those above mentioned drivers in the order mentioned above.

Good Luck!

yes i do get a little over excited as it were! and have had the idea as you said install all 1 will work!
Think for now i best leave it a while until after my holiday - and either start afresh or give up!
Not sure which drivers are the ones needed which is why i installed all and hoped for the best! just downloaded all drivers from the site and assumed all those were needed

criticism is good! :) we need that to learn what mistakes we have made and how to gain

The picture you posted here http://www.techkings.org/laptop-support/34354-toshiba-equium-l20-197-wont-boot.html#post227547 has the wireless card displayed at the bottom, see the black and white wire coming from it?
you could get details of what exactly you have from there to give you some direction.
Windows update, select custom through the windows update utility on IE using the ethernet connection and check to see if there are any hardware updates to install.
If that all fails ya its possible something has been damaged or removed from inside the screen and it may need to be replaced completely.
