My zgemma box and wiped 2 memory sticks. Does anyone know why this is happening?
It should not wipe your drive.Did you initialize your memory stick when you first plugged it in your box.
It’s done 2 pen drives so far
Not had that before tbh,are you using a good quality one like sandisk.
The likelihood is that you have removed the drives and the box has allocated them a different mount point.
If you're running ATV:
MENU > INFO PANEL > PLUGINS > MOUNT MANAGER
Make sure your
drive is mounted as /media/hdd and formatted as ext4 R/W
Yep. Both were sandisk
If you initialised it will wipe them.
when you initialised the usb stick it formats it.. so it will be blank
When you first setup usb and initialize it it will wipe everything on the stick and format it. You only need to do this once so when you flash again you should be able to plug it back in and check mounts are correct.
hard drive I use for recording. Ive used it for over a year.
Some how it’s lost all it memory and is not recognised.
This is the second one it’s happenes to
Are these drives permanently plugged in and not removed and your
hdd is the same?
Yes they were used as
HDD it both have been wiped and won’t be recognised on laptop so basically wiped them of any memory for future use
Windows on laptops & pc's can't see linux that the usb or hhd uses once been initialized on your box
You need to format them back to something windows can see
Yes was thinking they were getting removed, always leave plugged into box and setup to use.
There are other ways to view that content on pc and laptop if needed.
How can I do that when my laptop doesn’t show them in the
Use a free program, something like MiniTool Partition Wizard and format them that way. Windows wont show them as a
drive, as they are not a recognised format, use a free tool like I have mentioned and they will show up.
Nice one. I’ll give it a go tonight or in the morning. Thanks
Next question is where you want to use your drives box or pc?
