V8S Firmware Update 2015

Hi,

My Openbox V8S was last updated with firmware in October 2014.
It looks like there are now newer V8 versions and I would like to know what the updates include :

2014/11/25 V8 141125 DEMO15
2015/01/16 V6 V8 141207

Currently my box is running ok with current version of firmware and latest channel list.

Hi mate did you find out what this update does? I used the other 2 updates at skybox.cc 1 is meant for a youtube fix but it still does`nt work and the other 1 took my youporn away?
 
Hi - I haven't tried updating V8S firmware since I got my box as seems to work ok on current version which was last updated in October.
I couldn't find much information on skybox about the new firmware updates and if it improves anything.
 
I've update to latest firmware can't see anything different .YouTube still not working ..you porn working .just for test purpose of corse lol

Sometimes you have to press 6666 while in the Network App menu to get YouP0rn to appear.
 
Latest firmware version for V8S seems to be OPENBOX V8S(14101606B3) 2015-01-28, but not sure of what improvements this provides ?

I'm still running firmware dated 25/11/2014 which seems ok, but if I do upgrade to latest version will I need to add my NLine again ?
 
I tried V6_V8_CMT_1412070937.abs on my v8s, but it just stayed on the previous firmware 3511HD_07_12_2014_0923. It also didn't delete the sealion as I thought it should/would.
Only thing that seemed strange was the size of the .abs 7mb. Other updates look like they are around 3 and a half mb.
I did the update per instructions on here. Anybody else have this problem?
Only reason I'm trying to update is because of the DLNA bug grrrrrr.

Edit:I did notice one change, and that was the startup splash screen said Skybox instead of Openbox, but strangely, under information for software, it still stayed at my original 3511HD_07_12_2014_0923.

I installed that new firmware in, with the option of keeping settings, and even though it said it would reset to factory, I didn't have to re-input my cline or TP_PROG.dbs.
I also re-installed my backup .abs and had the option to keep settings and I didn't have to re input my cline or TP_PROG.dbs.... if that helps.

So the thread says "Openbox v8s"

What part didnt you understand fella ? The part that said v8s or the bit you imagined said "Ask any questions about s9 boxes instead" !!!!???? Grrrrrr lol

Yes, very strange. This works in my tv but does not work in my brothers????

ive downloaded the zipped files

changed then to a .abs file

then when I try upload the files to the openbox it dies not read them!

Its all all very strange to me.
 
Right Lads Im going to start at the beginning again becase to be quite honest it complety has me Fcuked. My mind is melted and my head is wrecked but id really love to sort this problem.

I have a V8 Pro S2/T2

When i plugged it into my TV it works fine, When i bring it to my bothers it comes on with the V8 logo then goes off.

Im guessing its not picking up the satellite signal. But then the same thing happens in my neighbours so it does not explain why it works in mine.

So anyway im updateing the firmware

So i down load the firmware and unzip it load it onto the usb. 2 files, **** it.

Any way.

I know put the usb in the box and i got to "Dump" The old software first. Seems logical but then i cannot go back into the "Upgrade by" it will only let me changed the user defined settings on the dumped by....

What the hell am i doing wrong.

Im going to attempt delete all my channels and **** it literally start from scratch like ive an empty shell

In the mean time can some one give me guidence

Sorry mate my head is mush trying to sort this problem. Its a V8S2/T2 to be exact which is a V8 to me.

Give me a break its a pain not being perfect.
