watching wildlife

Linny40

TK LADY VETERAN
I have been putting bird food out in my front garden for sometime now and love to watch the birds come and eat the seeds fatballs and peanuts and watch the squirrels steal the nuts lol!
We had a little snow yesterday so now the weather is getting colder i notice more and more birds coming to feed. I spend a fortune a couple of weeks ago on seed nuts and fatballs ( well they were on special offer lol) and feeds as the squirrels i saw keep chewing the plastic ones so they fall off the tree then they do a runner with them - little so n so's lol!

I also have bird feeders out in the back garden and the squirrels - oh its so funny to watch the positions they get into to get the nuts.
Today whilst i was looking out my window next to my pc i saw a lovely fat red breasted robin, and the Parakeets came to eat as well, was fab watching them. Im not good with birds ( need a book) but we also have blue tits and yellow tits and other small birds.

We also get foxes in our garden and earleilr in the year even saw the small cubs coming to get food.!

Anyways took a few photos of the birds feeding on my iphone which i will uploads to this post in a while!

Ally the stones you see under the trees were our Rango Gizzy Ottile & Stitch :( i keep an eye on them 2 x

I have been doing the same since last year and the few bob it costs to put the nuts and fat balls out is returned 10 fold with what you see going on in your garden!.

We have all kinds of birds visiting daily, the odd squirrels (robbing little gits) biting through the cage holders or biting through the tree branch and running away with it lol, I learn't the hard way too but as said well worth it!.

We have CCTV fitted all around the house and had to view that cause I thought some saddo was robbing the cages themselves.

The kids love watching them feeding in a morning before heading off to school. They can see whats going on whilst eating breakfast at the table. This time of year as you say there is loads relying on what we can give them.

Has no-one noticed that there are parakeets in Kent?? I thought linny was drinking when she mentioned this earlier:lep:

Love it linny, we'll have to get you an I-camera with a bigger lens though lol

haha yes been there!! i accused someone of stealing my nut feeder as i couldnt find it anywhere and the ways id secured it to tree. Forgot how clever the cute little critters are at getting what they want. Have now bought nice metal ones - hopefully they cant chew those. CCTV god id love hubby to put that up BUT id never leave the pc at all lol!

Only thing i really want now are hedgehogs but dont know if we have any in the area or how to encourage them into the garden.
Also i think i need to have my camera ready rather than take photos on the phone!!! but by the time you get camera ready they've gone phone is at my side

Never ever seen them around here either? must only live around the wealth eh Linny???? .
They live in the park ( not sure which one) the big park is only a couple of miles away, but we do have one opposite use, but yes we often get them in our gardens in swarms of about 20, they tend to strip the trees - you know when they have been around as there is tree debris all over the roads. Plus they are so loud! the beauty of living next to a park maybe :) They do save us having to prune our trees lol! a better image of one i found on google

Poor kids, would you not put the table inside the house especially this time of the year? Fancy CCTV & the poor kids out in the cold lol :leaving:

Poor old "C"family (see how I did that Linny) the last time I was around, there were reptiles all around(not running/slithring loose), but george was sent to his room and hubby(sorry, I can't remember your name(I admit it, had I a smart phone before I did(not an i-anything),I could have taken a photo and added details to keep my memory fresh)) was told to stay in the dining room until wheelo sorted the Wii.
friggin hell linny, next time I decide to take the pish, I am ringing you, this carry on takes too long.
