Download MiniTool-Partition-Wizard from here:

Delete the existing partition and create a new Ext 4 primary partition and then plug it into the zgemma and boot.
Should be good to go, I've never had a problem doing this with hdd's or usb's.
Just bear in mind that Windows won't be able to read the drive when plugged into the PC but you can copy stuff to and from the drive using FTP.
