Hi Gang,
as the Title suggests, I am looking for a pair of Homeplugs, but I want to get the best possible deal on them. I dont need them to be terribly fast, but Ido need them to be "Pass through" due to a severe shortage of sockets, where they are needed.
I can see them for £50 on amazon, is this about right, or are there cheaper out there??
Thanks,
Wheelo

You should be able to get them for about £30
Mine are 85mbps and work fine, but I don't think
you can get them that slow anymore, even if you shop around .lol

So a pair of 200mbps should do fine.

Nowhere I would definatly recommend
to be honest I think I bought my pair
on a "buy now" from a shop on ebay.

Cheapest I could find when I was looking around a while back were

Bare in mind folks that wheelo is specifically looking for a set of pass-through home plugs which make the sockets used by them available for other items.

You probably won't beat what you are looking at wheelo if these are them?

^ Those are almost £50, whereas the one's without the pass through are about £25. If it were me, I would buy two 3-way adaptors (cost £1 per adaptor in Poundland, got 2 last week for something else, decent quality and doing the job nicely) to address the lack of a wall socket problem. Total cost - £25 for the home plugs and £2 for the 3-way adaptors.

That sounds fine but my experiance has thought me that homeplugs do not work well (if at all) when used with extension leads, they are designed for & need to be connected directly to a wall socket and all sockets need to be on the one circuit. For example, if you had two fuse boards, one for the main house & one for ltet's say an extension built out the back, a home plug on both circuits won't work. I'm not sure if using adapters will cause issues are not but they would be a tad bulky and not as neat as pass-through setup.

Guess its upto wheelo to decide how he wants to proceed. I agree with you that using adaptors is a tad bulky and pass-through is a neat setup, but does it justify the price ? Opinions vary on that one.

Agreed, it is a personal choice. One thing is for sure though? You have to guarantee functionality first followed by price & then neatness I guess?

It's wheelo's call in this case ;)

You could try here

I know wheelo said he didn't need high speed but just be aware that the ones linked to eBay are only 85Mbps so the 200+ ones are better value

Yeah, I know they are slower but I have been
running a box off 85mbps one for a few years with no
problems.

Didn't realise you could still get them,
thought it was all 200 and 500 these days.
