Will Starview 7 connect to the internet with a USB to LAN converter?

I have a SV7 and i think the RS232 port is knackered as it wont find a network connection. I also have a ddigital duo thast uses a USB to LAN converter instead of a RS232 to LAN.

My question is will the SV 7 box detect a network with a USB to LAN adaptor or is it confirured only to attain a signal through the RS232 port?

i think you cabn purchase new rs232 ports off Fleebay and on this site with a little digging you can find the wiring diagram off the rs232
 
the wiring diagram dont work all the adapters on ebay dont work 2 me and another person have tryed without success as for your question im not sure plug it in and try it see what happens
 
Where the heck can you buy a serial LAN adapter for starview7 as I have lost the one I it with it.

let me know if it works as the cisco 1 does not - inside the 1 that comes with sv 7 is a board not just wiring
 
The cisco cable does not work with the SV7, Brought one,tried it,you guessed it,it did not connect to the internet.
