Windows Vista Windows error msg desk top won't boot

Folks,
not to clever on p.c's but the kids desk top won't boot and getting the followin message.

windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt
windows root system 32
ntoskrnl.exe
pls re-install a copy of the above file.

any help greatly appreciated.

Which operating system is your kids PC using?

If you have an installation CD for your OS then just pop it into the computer, and chose to repair windows files and hopefully that will get you back up and running.

Window xp not sure where the disc is but I will have a look for it tks .

I know this thread is a month old but if you havent sorted the pc and cant find your disc ill post an xp disc to you so just pm me :)

mm sounds liek the kids may have deleted a file. if you havent sorted it then take up mohs kind offer
