A woman is in a critical condition following an assault on the Northside of Dublin last night.

A woman is in a critical condition following an assault on the northside of Dublin last night.
The incident occurred in a house at Donaghmede Park shortly after midnight. It is believed the victim suffered stab wounds.
The 44-year-old was taken to Beaumont Hospital.
Gardaí say this was a vicious attack on a woman who lived alone in Donaghmede Park.
No arrests have been made.
The scene of the attack has been sealed off pending a technical examination.
Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in the area to contact Coolock Garda Station on 01-6664200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666111 or any garda station.
