MXQ 4.4.2 - can i load plex on it ?

My friend has a MXQ 4.4.2 (kernel 3.10.33)

i was trying to put plex App onto it but i get a not compatible error message.

What can be done with this box , is it basically unusable or can it be updated or tinkered with to allow plex at minimum to be loaded onto it.

It should run the older apps - I'm sure it can handle STB emu pro also.

i am not really sure what stb emu really is tbh, i am not really up to date on anything related to the way these boxes work

When you say run older apps ....do you mean i should be able to run an older version of Plex ? The reason i ask for plex is because i have a subscription to a plex server and want to use it off that box also. The IPTV side of things i have sorted with my provider etc so its really just plex app i am looking for at the moment.

Look up MXQ Project on Google. Lots of info, links to firmwares, videos & instructions etc to make use of the older MXQ boxes. You can run LibreElec on it to get the later versions of Kodi working. You could also turn it into a retro game emulator or an audiophile music player box.... even an Armbian Linux box... lots of options for the older MXQ boxes so don't throw them away
