Zgemma H2H password locked @webif terminal HELP Plz

Hi guys n gals. I have a problem with my zgemma h2h box I let another member into my box via team viewer and the guy spent hours flashing box to latest build ( openatv 6.3 and grogbuild free range . Took a 24hr iptv trial from him however I was getting error on boot up quoting a software issue so i updated to open atv 6.4 and was about to flash again with grogbuild in order to configure virmin channel map etc but as soon as I went into Webif to enter the command line in terminal, I noticed the geezer had put a pword on my box for whatever reason. Anyway the long and short of it is he said the pword was blah blah but it isn't so my box is basically locked to him until I buy an iptb sub (that's how it's looking) . Won't name names as that's no my style but thats the strength of it at the moment . Sorry I'm new to all of this so apologies for length of thread. Anyone know a way round unknown pword I've tried going in through putty but to no avail

If this is the case contact the mods and I'm sure they'll take on board what you have said and contact whoever you purchased from here.

Seems a bit odd that he would give you the password for it not to work, you are defo doing everything correct? As in its the correct password? Contact whoever you gave access to your computer and ask for some help, or have you already done this?

Can't you just go in a change the password of the box here Menu.Setup. system.network.password setup

Hi garyth as I said the guy spent hours and it was definitely appreciated but I'm just not sure why the box was handcuffed. I'll wait and see if the guy gets back to me today with the right password. Just checking if there's a way round an unknown password either way cos it's looking like am stuck with a brick if there isn't.

That's very sad to hear bud! suppose to be a respected community! If you know how to re-flash via USB i'd do that which should allow you to use terminal again.

yeah but can't you go in and change the password on the box like I said in post #4

As per @garyth in post #4. Follow his instructions to access the password. The latest OpenATV updates have installed a password requirement, so may not be as sinister as outlined!

soz guys im really wet behind the ears with this and i dont mean to sound sinister here. the geezer done me proud and sat for hours updating my box etc. just asked for the pword and entered it after login : root and pword incorrect. so am sorry if im sounding if am talking outta skool here im not. just wondering if its normal practice to pword protect a box and not give the right pword to the owner. will follow instructios and wait for reply from the guy later today.

This can't be hard for you to do, you have the box so follow my guide in post#4 you do it with the remote for the box.
Is it that difficult to do this Menu.Setup. system.network.password setup
Now change the password to something you can use and remember
You will now be able to connect

The Geezer as you put it was me, Openatv 6.4 allows you to go in and change the password anytime you choose so as for a locked box you have me bamboozled there. This Gezzer will not bother next time and for the record i emailed you and explained that you can do an online flash anytime now which will wipe the box to a clean image of your choice. (n)It was late nearly midnight and work the next morning, All was needed a clean backup and install and box would have been perfect as explained

As I said it was appreciated. I told you my email wasn't working and gave my phone number as I didn't know about passwords etc. If you read my other posts in thread I said I didn't mean to be sounding sinister but I couldn't access my box. So newbie that I am I was panicking and only asking if there was a possible way round it which there obviously was. So breakdown in communication. I appreciated every second of your help mate but if youre wanting to spit the dummy out over it not a problem
