adding sat feed to existing cable setup

As a thought if line of sight was good on other sat dish might it be worth having a new face plate and new lnb fitted to add more choice as i cant see sky removing cables?

Old dish or the sky installer couldn't be bothered taking it down

i'm going with that one, as the original dish has, in theory, a better line of sight than the new one.
probably couldn't be bothered running a longer cable length, so went for a new dish instead.

wasn't talking about getting sky out to do anything.
just a local TV guy.

the old dish is on the rear of the property, but the point where the cables enters (the ones being used) are on the side, just below where the newer dish has been put.

Not like me with too many cables, boxes, and dishes,. Thought sat guy might be an essential service as we need tv while in lock down.

good luck even getting an independent gas guy around here to even answer the phone at the moment.
all the big companies are using the essential service exemtption (albeit it's only emergency jobs they are mainly dealing with), but almost every "one man guy" type place has shut up shop.

i'm in no rush anyway, it was just an added bonus as the sat cables were sitting there already.

Genuine Gibertini Robust Multi 2 Way LNB HOLDER MF-2120 fits other dishes too

This is good bracket for zone 2 satellite dish

managed to get someone to swap the LNBs over.
so i have it connected up, all channels scanned.
set up ABM providers etc.

however it's added all the sky HD channels into the bouquets even though they are dead, shouldn't ABM have removed them?

so the property i've moved into has both virgin and satellite live feeds.
i've moved my existing H2H to the new property and connected it to virgin - all ok still works as it did before.

so i thought about connecting up the sat feed to the box as well - well it's there so i might as well connect it.
i think the only thing that the sat feed would give me that i can't get on cable would be BT sports in SD, there isn't any other channel available on sat that i can't already get on cable?

so if i did connect it up, what would i need to adjust settings wise to add the sat channels - without it messing up the channel numberings for the existing cable channels?
Hi chenks m8, how did you get on with this as I've more or less copied your setup step by step, do you have line provider okay bud? My Virmin went down but the guys working on it have been great offering temporary service on other device just now until a fix happens. Be good to know if you got this sly up and running.
