TM nano remote query

So have had numerous remotes for the box. Original lasted just over 5 years and got a nearly new one last year and has lasted just shy of a year. But the volume buttons seem to be gone on it.

Now £20-£25 for the original is too much especially for a remote which is rubbish build quality and won't last long like my current one which hasn't.

Is there any way could fix the volume buttons by replacing with new buttons as everything else on the remote works?

Just pay for a new remote dosnt matter price or how cheap quality they are.
Dosnt a universal remote work on your box

I have already gone through two originals and one generic one.

I don't know about the universal remote never tried one with the box.

Price does matter to me mate seeing as how many have gone through over the years and for the original remotes it quite high.

Hence why I asked if volume buttons could be replaced as rest of the remote buttons are perfect. Just seems a waste throwing it away just because volume controls are gone.

Use webif on pc to do remote

I can and have before but I don't use the box and haven't for a very long time. It's there for parents who use it all the time. They won't be able to use that if I'm being honest.

Use the remote for everything except volume.
Use the TV remote to adjust audio up/down

Bit of a chore mate lol.

But may come to it. Will try to show my dad how to use it on his phone but I'm not optimistic it will stick.

Looking for used one if can get one cheap hopeful as one got last year was kinda new used not much for £5

If you’re using the volume buttons the most, there’s probably a bit of grease that’s seeped through.

Put your new remote in a food bag once you get it, should last longer that way.

Funny but true works a treat 😁😁😁😁

Good suggestion mate never thought of that.

Parents really press down on the volume buttons alot which I assume has done some damage inside.

If can open remote will do so and see if can do anything.

If your replacement remote is around the £10/15 mark. You might be better off getting a universal remote where you can map the buttons yourself.

So that way, when the volume buttons wear out again, you just remap it to say the red and green buttons etc.

Replacement ones are £20-£25 I believe.

Probably wrong here don't universal remotes mainly work only on TVs as was under the impression these wouldn't work with boxes like the technomate one?

Get a multi-device one.

If the volume buttons don't work at all, then just check on the website before you buy that it does have a code for your make. Logitech will most likely have one, one4all's database is smaller. (I think in the case you would need a remote that you can connect to your pc to programme if you wanted to remap the buttons, like the harmony 650).

But if the volume buttons do work a little bit, then you can get one with an IR receiver built in too. You can use the learning function and you just programme your new remote from your old remote. I picked up the one4all URC1280 the other day, £15 and it controls 8 devices. I programmed it for my viark this way.

Sounds quite complicated if I'm being honest mate.
