Iptv, mag box and nowtv fibre

Given macs are sniffed/cloned etc the probability of locked to IP is high.............

The hardest part is getting people to understand the need to use a vpn. Its the most simple fix to get around blocking and it hides all your data traffic from your broadband provider.
Some people are tighter than a ducks arse and don't want to spend on a VPN.
What they don't realise is a 12 month IPTV sub and a VPN is still miles cheaper than official Sky / VM for a year.

I was with Sly and had exactly the same problem. Got myself a decent router (ASUS) and put a vpn client on and worked fine. For family that had the same problem I experimented with a firestick with a vpn on it and it worked just as good
I was with sky never had that problem even with provider now no sky isp blocked

Hi all,

My parents have iptv and a magbox which they have been happy with for a number of years. Today I got a phone call that there iptv was no longer working and they needed some help. After some time trying to resolve it for them I found out they had moved to nowtv which went live today.

I belive they are blocking iptv. Is there a way round to resolving this? The iptv provider sent an email about using a firestick over 2 months ago however when I asked for help my 4 emails were all ignored. Not sure what to do now.
This might be a case of ISP censorship, but here is another avenue to consider.
Yesterday, some of the big (upstream) CA Certificates expired. Most devices will have had updates applied in readiness for that happening. MAG's have not typically enjoyed any updates which have included that and it is looking as if their will not do so in the future particularly for older boxes. So, if the portal address that has been used up to now is https:// then the box will no longer be able to access the supplier's portal. If the supplier is able to offer an alternative portal using http:// then it will be just a case of changing the portal address within the box's settings. However, if the supplier is only using https:// then you will need to consider and alternative device.

thts due to being full ssl https with no port ,if suppliers using a backup with port cool but the codec issue comes in then as infirmir said they wasnt gonna update the codecs on older boxes but yes if suppliers a sound guy/girl they will move it to user/pass line ,easily done, but again it depends on the supplier, then again post starter says hes on nowtv whitch is sky + alot have blocked em due to it allways being them attacking, reporting servers,so easier to just block em ,or his actual source supplier isnt protected

Maybe ask if isp lock is on his end?!
I would never buy a firestick before but now that’s all o use, they are easy for everyone to use and also comes with other benefits not just iptv. Get all other apps they buy, Amazon prime, Netflix etc.

I got this from my supplier yesterday -
Your MAG IPTV subscription is about to expire to renew please let me know, we will not be able to renew you if you are using Sky broadband or NowTV broadband due to new blocking many systems are now blocked on all main uk internet providers.
Luckily I'm on VM and the sub is very good, been with them for 3 years, very few problems so got another year's worth.
