Led usb power query

You could just plug it into a computer or even a phone charger plug tbh bud shouldn’t really make a difference
 
No usb device to use it from as its in the kitchen on a shelf and have a phone charger one.

When someone else said they melted 2 i wondered on their outputs as you know many are different.

I would guess they have been using cheap rubbish Chinese ones, bought for £1 at local discount shop.
Most chargers nowadays are 2 amp, I can't say I've seen anything at 1 amp or less in a long time.
 
Lamp description states 14w , at 5v this is nearly 3 amp . I’d go for a 20w . a Lot of chargers are only 5w so no wonder they couldn’t cope. The lamp description also states 14v , I assume this is a typo and they have got it mixed up with the wattage.

I never read the description tbh,
But that would suggest cheap rubbish PSU s,
A decent switched mode supply would just have shut down.
Well spotted on the rating @Scufferoo
