Painfully slow zapping times

Hi guys,
Don't know if anyone could shed some light on recent issue I'm having.
I have a mag box and an excellent IPTV provider.
Recently I upgraded my BB from fibre to cabinet to fibre to the home.
So it's 500 mb connection, but since the install the zapping time between channels takes ages about 10 sec.
Now initially I thought it was because I started using WiFi as before I had ran cat 5 straight to router.
But yesterday to test if it was WiFi I connect directly again and still the same.
Doesn't make any sense to me why this should be happening.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks 👍

Long shot but it could possibly be the nanny settings on the new connection. Turn them of see if it helps.

Also check the ping times to the IPTV providers url see if there excessive.

How do you turn off nanny settings on mag box?
It's a 256 never came across them on the portal before.
Also I'm familiar with pinging but unsure how to go about pinging the server URL from a mag box if that's what u mean.
Thanks for the help 👍👍

Change net nanny/surf safe settings in your broadband account online.
They're usually set to prevent you from accessing 'malicious' websites or domains, turn it off and reboot the router.
Then retry

I was referring to your new ISP connection mate.

Yeah checked there and there's no parental controls setup on the router.
Baffled to be honest.
Was wondering would it be a bad idea to clear user cache on mag box.
When I went into it was saying to read user manual before doing kinda not to be taken lightly, was wondering would it screw things up, can't see how it would 🤔

we are not talking router but on your account on isp provider page.

Not 100% sure on this: however I would check your ping setup/ test.. ping I beleive is the time it takes for the modem to speak to network..?if in uk, i was advised no ping above 30 for a decent delivery for service

Would I have to contact the provider to ask him or is there some way I can check myself.
Apologies for my ignorance as I never realized this was accessible if it is possible to do so.

Nothing to do with the provider.
It's your ISP, virgin, taltalk, sky etc.
They must have given you a username and password to login to your account online.
Login and the net nanny or surf safe settings are there

Yep already did that yesterday and there are no net nanny or surf safe enabled.
Gonna try a different router when I get home see if that makes any difference

You can get slow zapping times on iptv it all depends how quick your line/mac is taking to connect to the server and by the sounds of it you have a shite mag box.
depending on what phone you have if android download stb emu pro and imitate your box MAC address in stb emu pro that will help see if provider or not.
Your isp can’t cause a slow zapping time as things like Netflix YouTube would be slow also

Got it sorted 😀😀😀
Buddy of mine at work suggested trying the old router, as the tech left it didn't bother taking it away.
When he installed the fibre he obviously installed new router.
But when i setup the old router..... Bang changing again in a flash. Who would have thought that could have been the problem certainly not me, goes to show every day is a school day😁
Just like to thank ye all for the help.
Always found great support on this forum, it really was appreciated.
