What's new

New footage shows moments before man kicked in head by police officer at Manchester Airport

There are also reports that there were offences caused even earlier with a report of an incident on a Qatar airlines flight into manchester, and also an incident in a starbucks.
It just goes to show how people are manipulating social media towards their own end game. i wonder if all those people who cam out to support offenders would still come out now the facts are starting to come out into the open.

Watched this yesterday and the lad is a violent thug.
What I can’t understand is the officer who kicked and stamped on his head in a public place with security cameras everywhere and members of the public filming.
Obviously a heat of the moment reaction.
Maybe better for the lad to have had an unfortunate accident on the way to custody without security cameras and members of the public being about.
Either way the officer has risked ruining his career or he gets away with it.

So if no cameras, it's fine for a police man to kick a person tasered and lying on the floor?

I bet you wouldn't be saying this if it was the 70s and the person being assaulted was an Irish person.

Definitely not, both parties were in the wrong.
Kicking and stamping on someone’s head is not right in any situation especially when you are a Police officer.
Lucky the lad wasn’t in a US airport they probably would have shot him dead especially not being white.

No matter the situation before, kicking someone in the head while on the floor can be considered attempted murder in my books. Unable to defend himself and people are forgetting police officers have steel toe boots also
Police officers are also in a position of authority and took an oath.

This disgusting thug and his idiotic brother were attacking people in an airport. If it had been me or any other member of the public that did this, no one would raise an eyebrow, but of course they wouldn't do that, for fear of getting worse than kicked in the head and beaten to death with their own flip-flops

They deserved a good slap, but kicking someone on the ground is such a cowardly thing to do

I agree to an extent but no one knows what was said, what threats were made or whether the police thought the wider public were in danger. If the dude on the ground had got up and ran through the airport stabbing people, there would have been another outcry like GMP got when they failed to stop the bomber that killed 21 people.
People are saying it's down to race, they would have done the same if he was white, yellow or black.

I think you are right there, social media is too manipulative: the two numpties in the video only went to the airport to pick their mum up, so they couldn't have been causing havoc on a Qatar airways flight lol

Spot on, if anything bad happens to the chap, the officer could get charged with manslaughter.

Perhaps kick someone in the knee or leg to stop them from running away, but there's no need to kick an unarmed person in the head when they're already down. The issue now is that all the cretins from both sides of the race argument are coming out.

This happened on the same day at Manchester Airport but I don’t know if the civilians being detained have any link to the other two lads that were detained.

I have zero sympathy for either of the two.
Personally I think he should of jumped on his head for good measure.

I know if I was an armed police officer carrying a loaded gun, and two reprobates had attacked my colleagues breaking the nose of one of them, I'd have done everything to make sure they cannot get ahold of my firearm and cause any further injuries. If that means kicking them in the head then so be it. It's called fking about and finding out. If you'd done that in America they'd have been carried out in a body bag.

What's the Irish reference about? Am I missing something?
The Irish, even though there is a large population in Manchester, have received a torrid time at the hands of police and the general public, particularly during the late '70s and the '80s.

I had only seen reference to this on twitter up until now, but apart from the kick, I don't think the Police handled this badly. This seems to be an adrenaline filled "f@ck you" response, and probably a very natural reaction.
However, I think Police are held to a higher standard, and he may find himself in trouble.
However, if this is the best CCTV available, will it not be very hard to say with certainty who did what? I would have imagined CCTV inside a major international airport would have been a lot better.

Hope the UK police don’t end up like some of the US police who end up shooting people dead without any real cause whatever their race.

From what I have seen on the videos, The guys resisted arrest and attacked the police , the guy was tasered , as the policeman approached him to handcuff him , the guy raised his head , after such a violent assault on the police I don’t blame him for kicking him in the head to subdue him again. It’s not nice to see but the video shows what a tough job they have , his bosses should explain this and back him.

Zero sympathy here regards the two being arrested but the police have standards to keep to .. personally think there was no need for firearm police..non armed would have prob helped...his response was uncalled for with kick has made his and the police situation worse ...armed police to should have lot more self control...what next ...pulled trigger as his colleagues got punched ...we go down a slippy road ..

Here’s footage from an another angle.
The officer didn’t even attempt to handcuff him after he had been tasered and incapacitated face down on the ground with his arms at his side.
