Are we stuck with VPN use forever?

I struggle to see how ISP will ban VPN's because someone's watching Gold Rush on Discovery illegally. You have the NHS banking government all on them the list is endless. You ban VPN's you might as well just email them your card details and a picture of you with your trollies down to hackers and fraudsters.

The big one for me is when your abroad or large areas offering free wifi. The fraud is say in an Airport you've no WAP so you search see say:- "Terminal 1 FREE WIFI" so you log in with no VPN and some guys sat there on a mobile or lappy with a remote access point renamed to Terminal 1 free wifi booom there in.

a m8 of mine got done similar to this in the Euros this year. They took his FB X Insta over flooded them with bitcoin ads then he got a message saying pay 500euros or will post up a pic of you masturbating.

He said, do it I'm a big lad and proud I might get some chicks, it took months of tooing and froing with ID to get them back. Na you cant ban security and protection to stop illegal tv streams. I use NordVPN for my phone and home, I'm more bothered about "trying" to protect personal data than streaming sh*te

So maybe this will help if you use vpn and go with pia or cyberghost for 4 quid a month get a dedicated ip with them now I know people will say don't use dedicated ip they know who you are this is not the case with these 2 providers

The reason it's because they use a token based system where you have to generate a token in the website and once you have you must write it down or save it somewhere because once you leave that page you can't retrieve that token again it's gone even if you contact them they can't do nothing to help you would have to resubscribe again

This token you generate for your dedicated ip is in no way linked to your account so if they get a court order for that ip they don't know what user the token code was given to these I believe are the only 2 vpn company's that do this all the others your dedicated ip is linked to your email account

This way you should be able to use the vpn as it should not get blocked

Alternatively the other way which will work is mysterium vpn they are all residential ips and they won't get blocked mysterium vpn is great hope this helps 👍

Surfshark is the daddy ...trust me I have used pretty much all of the mainstream ones and even a few obscure ones...vulture which was probably the worst pile.of dog crap I've wasted money on.
Is Surf Shark any better than Nord and if so what is its advantages over Nord and other VPN providers ?

Agreed 100% Surfshark is the way to go. Mullvad is close behind, but not the most accessible for some. Absolutely love Surfshark and recommend it to anyone who will listen to me.

PS..... most people ignore me though so what does that say hahaha
When my cyberghost expires January 26 I'll be sure to switch to Surfshark, cheers

I have a couple of servers and come big match big boxing it's scrambled time. I use Nord and 2 don't like it totally blocking me as though the servers dead, turn it off servers back but scrambled so the server doesn't allow VPNs by the sounds of it.

Then there's the fine art of tuning Nord, which country to select ?. I find Dusseldorf can work well or Holland Belgium but it's juggling all the time trying to find one thats stable, its near impossible.

The one thing for Firestick user's I didn't know for a while was, the Amazon ethernet adaptor is throttled at 100mbps.
I thought I would be geting my 300mbps hard wired but not a chance. I bought a Cable Matters usb b to ethernet £15 which gives you a max of 480mbps.
Every bit helps trying to max it
I didn't know you could buy an adaptor to get the full speed, just purchased one for my firecube, cheers

I would think about buying sooner than later. Surfshark always has some great deals during the holidays so it may be worth it to take advantage of that instead of waiting till the end of January. You'll most likely save a lot of money.

As a regular VPN it's probably about the same. I've found it much better for IPTV than Nord in the past and I feel like many others agree. The apps on devices are great and easy to set up for split tunneling and features like that and it has a lot of great features overall. Really my favorite is that it's "unlimited devices". Don't get carried away, but you can easily install it on all of your personal devices and all of your families personal devices and never have an issue. Probably my favorite feature haha

Am I in the minority ?
A few year ago when these random blocks first appeared , I did purchase a vpn and use it fgor IPTV. A couple of months later , everything returned to normal and I havent had to use one since ?
All my downloading of movies/series is done via one of the debrid services.
Take a box over to the states a couple of times a year and just plug it into the hotel wifi to watch the footy.
Guess I have just been lucky .

I'm the opposite. I have Surfshark until 2026 via a Black Friday deal which I planned to just use for IPTV. I've since found myself using it all the time, on every device. It's just nice to have the complete privacy.

I use it for everything too even though it’s great for IPTV. While it’s probably not complete privacy it is much better than not having anything at all. The best part for me is I barely notice a speed difference at all compared to it being off.

I also use surfshark I have android devices but for iptv i mostly use enigma2 devices and with wireguard plugin and it is hardware based unlike opevpn so not a great loss in speed.

Out of curiosity what made you go with enigma2 devices?
I have everything on one device i,e, satellite, terrestrial and iptv channels and decent skin you can just scroll across various services and providers and if internet goes down I can at least watch other channels.

A lot on here still use E2 devices.
i.e. forum states All Things Tech - IPTV - Cable & Satellite

Oh I know a lot still use them. Since I no longer personally use anything other than IPTV and a personal Emby server... I prefer my Shield. I really was just curious as to why you went that route. They're great devices for all of those use cases though.

The official ones are still restricted to 100mbps dont be fooled, you need the Cable Matters Model 202053 it runs at 480mbps,

I think the advantage Surf Shark has over Nord is unlimited devices and the price. I got my Nord through topcashback £61 back on a £104 deal so shop around for cashbacks

I have one mines a 300meg line I use a 1000mbps 4 way switch upstairs hard wired up there (don't ask) then the switch feeds 3 rooms again hard wired.

I had to do because the WiFi's dog sh!t up there. My Shield and F,Stick both run max, about 270mbps were as if I use the older Amazon official adapter I have it's about 80ish.
Now really 80mbps is ample but for the sake of £15 why not I say. I use one for the Cube downstairs as well
