Front Seat Tilt Cable

Hi all

Does anyone have any idea what I could do to fix the little metal lug on the seat cable as it appears to have broken.
I am unable to push the seat forward to let passengers get into the back seat, thanks.

You could buy a new cable and join the new lug to the old cable with a cable joiner, instead of stripping out the cable completely and replacing.

Check with a main dealer as 3 door vehicles were hard on cables and lost count how many i replaced decades ago.

Thanks for the advice. Was thinking of using a cable tie in the hole of the car seat part and joining it to another on the cable, what a crap design.

Could you use a bit of garage cable to make loop through the hole and then crip it to the existing cable? Using something like this.

Looks far too heavy and large. I did use a large block connector to add wire from a bike shop and looped it through the lever and back into the block connector and tighten the screws.

That was just an example of the type of wire I was talking about. It's also known as garage door wire.

You could also put 2 cable ties on it and clicked in a few teeth and have other bit sitting on the seat and could then get it to release the catch.

Note lever and cable tie would then operate both catches as far as i remember.

Thanks will give that a go, I'm not buying a new cable and fiddling about fitting it.
